Editorial of Issue 66, January 2020, of the eNewsletter of the IEEE SMC Society

Dear SMC society members,

Welcome to the first issue of the eNewsletter for year 2020!

The issue starts with a message to all SMCS members from the Junior Past President, informing about the healthy status of our Society!

In the section on news about the Society, the eNewsletter reports information about the newly established SMCS Technical Committee on Intelligent Systems to Human-aware Sustainability. We also announce monthly SMC Chapter Chairs’ Webinars and share the success story of the third Young Professionals in Space 2019 event.

This first issue of 2020 also features numerous calls for papers and calls for participation to conferences sponsored by the Society. In particular, the eNewsletter features the call for papers for our flagship conference, the IEEE International Conference on Systems, Man, and Cybernetics, that this year will take place in Canada in beautiful Toronto (http://smc2020.org/). This year the theme of the conference is “Human-Centered Systems for Smart and Connected Communities and Infrastructures”. You are all invited to participate and submit your contributions to SMC2020. As usual, the areas of interest include the main three areas of the Society, namely: Systems science and engineering; Human-machine systems, and Cybernetics.

Finally, the eNewsletter also reports the latest information on our Society’s publications and features numerous job openings.

I look forward to receiving your contributions to keep the eNewsletter the leading forum of our Society.

Send us your feedback!
