A student branch chapter is a geographically based unit of the SMC Society and the Region. They represent and fulfill the needs of student members at specific universities.
Student branch chapters provide student members with valuable opportunities to meet face to face and host local activities. They operate similar to a regular society Chapter.
Establishing a SMC Society Student Branch Chapter
A SMC Society Student Branch can be established at any location where there’s an IEEE Student Branch. If an IEEE Student Branch doesn’t exist at your university, speak with an adviser to find out how to create one. The process for starting an IEEE Student Branch can be found on IEEE.org.
SMC Society Student Branch Chapters
Student branch chapters have been established in Australia, Canada, China, Hong Kong, Hungary, Italy, Mexico, Taiwan, Tunisia, the UK, and the US.
