Our Goal

The goal of Social and Economic Security (SES) is to provide an entity within the IEEE for social and economic security researchers, engineers and practitioners interested to promote social and economic security as a research domain. The SES TC shall support organization of conferences, special sessions, special journal issues learning materials, best practices, tutorials, sessions, webinars, and other educational resources related to SES. The TC shall be involved in international standardization efforts and be a source of professional knowledge on state-of-the-art best practices and trends in SES, with the objective of becoming a center of excellence in SES and related concerns. Furthermore, our goal is to stimulate growth of this specific TC within the SMCS in order to get more members interested in the activities and to benefit from IEEE membership.


Recent Activities

  • 2016 service system engineering conference and 2016 IEEE Symposium on analytics and risk, Beijing, July, 2016.
  • The special issues on "Risk Analytics in Industrial Systems," IEEE Systems Journal, 2015, Guest Editors: Desheng Wu, David L. Olson, Tsan-Ming Choi.

Anticipated Activities

  • Actively promote the research field of social and economic security within the IEEE SMC;
  • Organize session on SES in the IEEE SMC annual conferences;
  • Rally TC member to support continued organization of IEEE International Conference on social and economic security;
  • Edit special issues for journal publications.

We welcome anyone who is interested in the field of Social and Economic Security to join us. We may share and discuss new results in research, development and applications of Social and Economic Security and promote an exchange of ideas and cooperation. As a member of this TC, you will be invited to participate in organizing events arranged by us, and to submit papers to our publications. To join, please contact the TC Chair.
