Call for Participation: 2017 IEEE ICNSC

ICNSC 2017 – 14th IEEE International Conference on Networking, Sensing and Control, May 16-18, 2017, Calabria, Southern Italy

The 2017 IEEE International Conference on Networking, Sensing and Control (ICNSC 2017) will be held in Calabria, Southern Italy. ICNSC 2017 will provide a remarkable opportunity for the academic and industrial communities to address new challenges and share solutions, and discuss future research directions. In particular, the conference theme is “Sensing, Connecting and Controlling Everything through Open Internet of Things”. The detailed list of technical topics of the conference can be found on the conference webpage and in the call for papers.

The general chair is Prof. Giancarlo Fortino from University of Calabria (Italy), who is also the Chair of the IEEE SMC Italian Chapter, whereas the chair of the steering committee is Prof. Mengchu Zhou from NJIT (USA). The conference is in fact sponsored by the IEEE SMC Society along with the IEEE Italian Section, including (SMC, Computer and Control Systems chapters). Other sponsors are the DIMES (University of Calabria), Sensyscal S.r.l. (donor company) and ICAR-CNR (Italian National Research Council) as well as IEEE/CAA Journal of Automatica Sinica. The conference also includes 18 Special Sessions and one workshop on “Interactive and Wearable Computing and Device” organized by the homonymous IEEE SMC TC.

We received a huge amount of submissions (main conference, special sessions and workshop) among which we selected 150 papers authored from researchers from almost all parts of the world (Europe, USA, China, Brazil, Canada, North Africa, Japan, South Korea, Middle East, Pakistan, India, Singapore, etc.). The conference program is therefore very rich: 4 parallel sessions for 3 days. We also have three keynotes from well-know researchers from Academia and Industry: 1) Prof. Mingcong Deng, Tokyo University of Agriculture and Technology, Japan, “Operator based nonlinear networked control and fault detection & isolation”; 2) Dr. Roberto Minerva, Chief Technologist in Bitify.it, “IoT Challenges: Technological, Business and Social aspects”; 3) Prof. Gabriel Wainer, Carleton University, “Formal Discrete-Event Modeling and Simulation of Mobile Networks”. All accepted papers are expected to be included in IEEE Xplore and will be indexed by EI. Selected papers will be invited in several Special Issues organized in the following Journals: IEEE IoT Journal, Big Data and Cognitive Computing, International Journal of Grid and Utility Computing, International Journal of Advanced Mechatronic Systems, Energies, Sensors.

We would like finally to invite you in Calabria to attend ICNSC 2017 and enjoy the natural and historical beauties of the so-called “point of the boot” of Italy.
