SMC Seeks Chair, Industry Liaison Committee

IEEE’s Systems Man and Cybernetics Society promotes professional excellence in research and development among participants from academia, government and industry. With a population of members primarily from academia, SMC seeks to build stronger ties with industry, where many of the concepts developed in academia can be translated into reality. These may include researchers in industrial laboratories, entrepreneurs, professionals, and government agencies as part of systems, cybernetics, and human machine system interest areas.

SMC seeks a chair to build a committee that will work together and program of activity to strengthen ties with industry through a number of initiatives: encourage new members from industry to join SMC, promote SMC industry member activity through activities and electronic communications, and encourage industry support for SMC activities such as workshops and student research awards.

The successful candidate will be a responsible professional who is familiar with industry, available and responsive, and has a strong command of English. To express interest in this position, please send an email with CV and vision statement by May 1 to the VP for Membership, Imre Rudas, at [email protected].
