Our mission
This technical committee (TC) aims to provide a platform for exchanging ideas and information among researchers from different backgrounds but work in the inter-disciplinary field of Systems Biology to understand the complex biological systems. To approach this goal, we will organize special sessions or workshops as well as technically sponsor related conferences, special issues in certain international journals, and other events. Through this TC, we would like our members to get together, to know each other, to participate in interesting conferences and workshops to exchange ideas with scientists and engineers worldwide, and making friends from different regions of the world.

Our activities
In the past years, we have organized the following events.
. We sponsored the annual IEEE International Conference on Systems Biology (ISB) during 2009 and 2012.
. We organized a special session on "Systems Biology" in 2009 IEEE International Conference on Systems, Man, and Cybernetics, October 11-14, 2009, San Antonio, Texas, USA. http://www.smc2009.org/
. We organized an invited session on "Biomolecular Networks" for the joint 48th IEEE Conference on Decision and Control & 28th Chinese Control Conference, Shanghai, China. December 16-18, 2009. http://www.ieeecss.org/CAB/conferences/cdc2009/index.php
. We organized a special issue of "Analysis and Control of Biological Networks" on Asian Journal of Control, Vol.13, No.5, 2011.
. We organized a special issue of "Bioinformatics and Computational Systems Biology" on IEEE/ACM Transactions on Computational Biology and Bioinformatics, Vol.9, No.4, 2012.
On the agenda
. We plan to organize our annual conference entitled IEEE International Conference on Systems Biology every year.
. We will organize invited sessions and workshops in related conferences, e.g. InCoB2013 (12th International Conference on Bioinformatics of the Asia-Pacific Bioinformatics Network).
. We will organize a special issue about systems biology on a non-IEEE journal, e.g. Journal of Theoretical Biology.
. We aim to establish a transactions or journal in IEEE SMCS, e.g. IEEE Transactions on Systems Biology, by collaborating with other societies in the future.
