Publish or perish. - Kimball C. Atwood III.

There is a lot of pressure on scholars to produce frequent publications. In addition to having new ideas and research results, one should also write a paper well in order to get it accepted by a good journal or conference. In this issue of the eNewsltter, Professors Witold Pedrycz and Vladimir Marik, two editors of IEEE Transactions on Systems, Man and Cybernetics, kindly provide their suggestions on how to write good research papers. Since they have seen many papers of different qualities submitted to their journals, they have a lot of useful tips for us.

I would like to thank Professors Pedrycz and Marik for their time and effort on preparing the articles. Also I hope the readers can benefit from their suggestions.
